Picasso Project Grant Awards Ceremony: Fourteen Philadelphia K-12 Public Schools will receive up to $5,000 for Arts Projects

ВОЗ: As part of its efforts to keep the arts alive in Philadelphia schools, the Picasso Project, an arts advocacy program of Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY), will present grants totaling $52,000 to fourteen Philadelphia public schools. School staff and students will be present. Performances too! Our emcee is Kathy O’Connell, host of WXPN’s Kids Corner, America’s longest-running daily call-in radio show for kids.

PCCY’s Picasso Project was created in 2002 to increase arts education opportunities for students in the School District of Philadelphia and to improve the capacity of schools to provide arts education experiences. The Picasso Project engages in advocacy towards long-term changes in access to and funding for arts learning in Philadelphia schools. As of 2013, the Picasso Project has made grants totaling $414,000 during 11 years to fund 109 arts projects, reaching approximately 27,500 students in city public schools.
