Octoberfest: Gisele Fetterman headlines benefit to help kids!

Here are the top five reasons you want to reserve your ticket to PCCY’s Octoberfest bash!

1. Come meet Second Lady of PA, Gisele Fetterman!
When her partner, John, was elected PA’s Lieutenant Governor, she vaulted into the spotlight by tweeting, “Pennsylvania your second lady was once an undocumented immigrant.” Since then, she’s been a prominent ally for many worthy causes that share a common value: compassion. We are so thrilled Second Lady Fetterman accepted PCCY’s invitation to be our special guest!

2. Cheers to the best Octoberfest deal ever! $15!!!
More than 15 of the region’s most delicious restaurants, retailers, and spirits have donated a generous spread for all of our guests, including South Philly Barbacoa, Le Virtu, Goldie, Sate Kampar, and our gracious host, Philadelphia Brewing Company. That’s how we’re able to offer a $15 buy-in-advance ticket, which includes all food and drinks, including, of course, beer. This is a perfect event for groups of friends, coworkers, or for anyone to meet new, friendly people.

3. All proceeds to help children who need access to basic healthcare!
Not only will you have a great time at this amazing Octoberfest celebration, but you’ll help PCCY fight for basic healthcare access for over 30,000 children across Pennsylvania. Although the Commonwealth claims to “Cover All Kids”, undocumented children are excluded from CHIP coverage. All proceeds from the event will support our Dream Care campaign, to make sure Pennsylvania lives up to its promise.

4. Explore the powerful works of photographer Ada Luisa Trillo
Fresh from an exhibition of her work at New York’s Agora Gallery, Ada Luisa Trillo will display 17 of her stunning and intimate photographs of her 3,000 mile journey documenting a caravan of migrants from Chiapas, Mexico to the U.S. Trillo, whose work is part of the Philadelphia Art Museum’s permanent collection, will be joining us, offering unique insights into her process and her relationships with those she photographs.

5. Musical guests: Stevie and the Bluescasters!
We caught their incredible set at the 2017 Phila Folk Festival and were blown away. That’s why we were stunned when virtuoso blues trio Stevie and the Bluescasters called us, offering to play at Octoberfest: We Are All Immigrants for free! Blues Brothers keyboardist raves, “This is a blues band with a no-nonsense take-no-prisoners craftsmanship and a bone-deep conviction.” We’d add, “with hearts as big as their talents!”
