Children First has listened to many child care providers who want to change early childhood education policies to improve program quality. The time has come for more diverse voices to be part of the conversation.
Children First is leading the process to create the Racial Equity Early Childhood Provider Council in southeastern PA, which was prompted by recommendations from the BUILD Initiative report. Join us for one of the upcoming Zoom meetings for the opportunity to learn more about the Council and ask questions.
While the Council isn’t formed yet (obviously, that’s why we’re recruiting!), there are some guidelines in place based on feedback in the BUILD Initiative study:
- Representation of small and large group- and center-based programs
- Intentional inclusion of cultural and ethnic diversity
- Input that comes from the ground up, not the top down
- Participation of dozens of providers from throughout southeastern PA
