NOTE: This week’s edition of The Point has been preempted by this important message from Mayor Jim Kenney and Councilmember Helen Gym.

Mayor Kenney & Helen Gym back PCCY’s Parent Advocacy Accelerator

VOTE EVERY DAY and help launch a new era for PARENT ADVOCACY!

Philadelphia’s top vote earners are hoping PCCY’s Parent Advocacy Accelerator will come out on top of Philadelphia Foundation’s grant funding sweepstakes!

This week, Mayor Jim Kenney announced his support for our proposal to supercharge parent advoacy in the region, saying he was “proud to support PCCY, an organization that advocates and works hard every day for our city’s children.”

Just this morning, Philly’s most popular member of council, Helen Gym, took to social media to urge her supporters to vote for PCCY to boost “parent power.”

“For years,” Gym wrote on Facebook, “I’ve worked hand in hand with youth, parents, teachers, friends, and Philadelphians to fight for great schools, healthy kids, and a better future for all of us. PCCY has always been there to support this work, and right now they’re up for something big: a $200,000 grant to train and inspire the next generation of parent advocates.”

“I’m voting every day to support PCCY’s Parent Advocacy Accelerator so we can build more parent power—we need you to vote too!”

Help us win by voting every day until July 26 for the PARENT ADVOCACY ACCELERATOR! Visit PhilaFound.org/VOTE TODAY!

Lower Travel Costs!  Options are available.

The Mayor’s proposed tax on ride share companies will protect public schools and ensure students have the resources they deserve. If ride share companies choose to pass these costs directly onto riders, there are options for individuals with disabilities to help lower their travel costs.
