Easton Mayor Proclaims June Pre-K for PA Month – Upper Saucon Patch – June 30, 2014

The Mayor of Easton, Salvatore Panto Jr, has proclaimed June Pre-K for PA Month. The Pre-K for PA issue campaign advocates for high-quality preschool for all of Pennsylvania’s three-and-four-year olds. The mayor signed on the City of Easton as a supporting organization, presenting the proclamation to representatives Patricia Hunter of Spring Garden Children’s Center and Terry Thomas of the Lehigh and Northampton Association for the Education of Young Children. These are two of nine organizations from Easton to sign on in support of this issue campaign.

Other supporting Easton organizations include Family Connections of Easton, Easton Cops ‘n’ Kids Reading Room, Millie’s Creative Learning Center, Lafayette College Early Learning Center, Little People Country Club, The Children’s Garden, and Cameroonians and Friends in the Lehigh Valley (CAMLEV).

The Pre-K for PA issue campaign is working to ensure that all Pennsylvania children are ready to succeed. Their vision is that every 3- and 4-year-old in the commonwealth has access to high-quality pre-kindergarten.

This initiative was launched by a statewide coalition, including Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children, Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, Mission: Readiness, Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children, Pennsylvania Head Start Association, Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children, Pittsburgh Area Association for the Education of Young Children, Public Citizens for Children and Youth, and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
